Web Site Up - Updates Coming - 25 years

April 24th, 2013 - We had a severe web site issue in March; is fully operational again. Read the story. We will have a completely redesigned web site up May 2013, preview it here.
New updates of our entire product line is coming; the long awaiting Motif Creator, Translator 6.1, new Constructor and Kontakt Assistant versions, and important work done on Instrument Manager.
New Multi-Format Installer created for Nine Volt Audio's The Ultimate REX & RMX 30,000 collection. Check it out; 30,000 loops, 28 libraries, a $2400 value, only about $400!

Kontakt 4.2 Support - Added SFZ

May 20th, 2011 - Kontakt 4.2 Support is one of the many features and fixes in the new Translator update 5.9.0.102 (Mac), 2.9.0.132 (Windows).
Native Instruments changed the Kontakt file format in version 4.2 so we've spent some time getting that implemented. Now, you can convert in and out of Kontakt 4.2 files, and also Fix and Replace References too!
We have put in more SFZ support, with the new CamelAudio Alchemy Free player (which plays SFZ) coming out. You specify how the SFZ file is written out textually, plus we offer full Group support and organization.

Multi-Format Installer Included in ProjectSAM True Strike 1 and 2 |
January 2, 2007 - Chicken Systems announces the inclusion of it's licensed technology Multi-Format Installer (MFI) 1.4 for the ProjectSAM True Strike 1 and 2 for Windows and Mac OSX (Universal Binary).
MFI is the installer technology that permits the True Strike series to be distributed as one package, while supporting multiple formats. The MFI allows the user to select where they want the files installed (programs and samples can be in different areas), and the installer updates the paths in the control files to accurately reflect where those samples were installed. The MFI also allows for easy updating of the library if new patches or changes occur.
ProjectSAM's True Strike� include the following formats:

Multi-Format Installer technology has also been used by Sonic Reality (UFO/Sonik Capsules), Hollow Sun, and Discrete Drums, with more titles coming.

Independence Convertor™ Available
Independence support in Translator |
November 2, 2006 - Chicken Systems releases the new free Independence Convertor. This handy Windows and Mac utility converts all Akai S-1000/3000 and SoundFonts into Yellow Tools Independence native format. Chicken Systems also incorporates full Independence support into Translator 2.9 build 105.

Fusion Convertor™ OSX Available |
April 2, 2006 - Alesis has released the new free Fusion Convertor OSX 1.1, based on the new Translator Mac engine and written by Chicken Systems. It has the same facilities and features and the Windows Fusion Convertor.
Windows Fusion Convertor has also been upgraded to Version 1.1, implementing all four oscillators of the Fusion plus many other handy features. |

Alesis Fusion Convertor™ Available Alesis Fusion support in Translator |
November 22, 2005 - Alesis has released their free Fusion Convertor, based on the Translator engine and written by Chicken Systems. This small utility facilitates conversion of WAVE, AIFF, SoundFonts, and Akai S-5000 files into the super-workstation Alesis Fusion. See FusionSynth.com for more information on the Fusion, and Alesis's web site to download Fusion Convertor itself.
Fusion support has also worked into Translator; introduced into Build 103 of Version 2.9 of Translator. |

Roland MV-8000 and Roland S-7x Support Announced |
September 24, 2005 - Conversion into the Roland MV-8000 is now available, MV owners can now access sounds from anywhere!
Writing to Roland S-7x Series disks is now supported, paving the way to use any format within the S-7x sampler.
These features have been introduced into Build 96 of Version 2.9 of Translator. |

| Kontakt2 Features Universal Import |
April 8, 2005 - The new Kontakt2 comes with the ability of loading practically any file format into its engine. This of course was provided by the world-famous Translator engine.
Not only are all these formats supported, they are integrated in a better way than any other sampler. Files are shown on the left, and you simply drag them over from the left into the engine rack to play them. Bulk importing is available too.

with Build 74 of Version 2.9. |

Akai MPC Source Support |
| July 7, 2004 - Translator Windows now supports importing any MPC .pgm
file into any of the standing destination formats. This has been introduced
with Build 59 of Version 2.9. |

SampleTank 2 Support |
| May 5, 2004 - Translator Windows Version 2.9 Build 48 introduced SampleTank
2 support, which greatly increases the ability for incoming formats to
fit into a single SampleTank instrument. |

Yamaha Motif Support |
March 17, 2004 - Translator now supports Yamaha Motif conversions
in its Windows platform. All supported source formats are included, such
as Giga, EXS-24, HALion, Reason, Akai, S-5000, Roland, Emu, Ensoniq, Kurzweil,
and much more.
A Translator Motif Edition is now available, featuring Motif conversions at half the cost.. |

Sonic Reality and Chicken Systems |
May 12, 2004 - Sonic Reality makes extensive
use of Translator to produce their forth-coming Sonic Capsule series of
sounds.
The Sonic Capsules boast capability in several formats - EXS-24, Steinberg HALion,
NI Kontakt and Battery, and SampleTank - all due to the powerful Translator
engine.
The Sonic Capsule's also make use of an offshoot of Translator technology
- the UFO ("Universal Format Outputter"). This is a custom format installer
that enables the user to install the program files directly off the CD,
into any folder they want, while the UFO automatically updates those
files to reference the samples properly. It also provide Sonic Reality
with the means of distributing a single CD to deal with all the formats.
Sonic Reality is distributed by M-Audio, Ilio Entertainments, and
IK Multimedia. |
