Is Microsoft acquiring Chicken Systems?

May 7th, 2015 - Microsoft Corp. is extremely familiar to us. Our company's founder grew up only 10 blocks away from the current corporate campus.

He ALMOST went to the coveted Lakeside School where Bill Gates learned his chops.

And most of his high school graduating class went to work for Microsoft, at least becoming janitors and becoming millionaires because of Microsoft's industry-changing profit-sharing plans for their employees.

We've had numerous meetings at Microsoft Studios and have sold plenty of product to Microsoft proper. So if Microsoft ever came to us and gave us an acceptable offer - I mean REALLY acceptable - perhaps we'd take it. And such an offer isn't without precedent in our industry AND even with competing programs. Redmatica got bought by Apple a couple years ago.

Well... when we saw THIS PRODUCT by Microsoft, we thought that either we were a product of a hostile takeover or it was just something stupid. Microsoft doesn't put out anything stupid, but we did find this mildly amusing. And we find the imitation flattering - if we thought this product name was smart, well, they must have too.

And Microsoft isn't the only company to "steal" our name. Digidesign did it too - see here.
