New Formats for Translator 6.1
May 14th, 2015 - With Translator 6.1, we are adding about 12! new source and destination formats. (Also, a new status dialog is featured, plus a couple significant interface enhancements.)
Here's the list of the new formats. Click on the links for more information on the sampler supported!
Some comments: We are finally supporting SampleCell mainly for the ability to import SampleCell Instruments into the Alesis Q-series and Quadrasynth keyboards. This is very handy! The Cwitech TX16Wx is a free sampler but very powerful, check it out. The Grace and Poise samplers are simple and lightweight. We already support Ableton DrumRacks (which actually are a series of Sampler instruments) but now we support the Instruments themselves. They convert into Instruments or Instrument Racks, depending on the complexity of the imported instrument. The imports are MUCH better than Abletons.
Lastly, the Dream chips are really fascinating. Dream goes WAY back with their .94B soundcard format. No one ever supported it because it really didn't take off like expected. But they've stuck around, and now they are making really high-quality chips and we know of several users that are building their own stuff and even distributing it. This format isn't for the common user and will only be available in the Hi-Tech Edition.
The byproduct of all the Translator 6.1 release and the other updates is that FINALLY we can get all the CD's out to all customers who patiently waited for them. They'll be manufactured in late May/early June, then we'll send out address confirmation notices, then send product out upon the return emails. |
