Deleting Objects

Deleting an object within Translator is done by selected the object you want to delete in the left pane or the right pane, and pressing the DEL key on the keyboard. Since this is a destructive procedure, Translator always asks you if you REALLY want to do this.

If you are deleting a Directory-type of object, such as an Akai Volume, or an Ensoniq Directory, it is obvious you are asking Translator to deleting all the objects within, so Translator will delete these without prompt.

In certain cases, Translator knows that certain files not being deleted have little or no use after this particular file has been deleted. In some cases, Translator will ask you if you want to delete these as well. A good example of this is an Akai Program where the Samples in that Volume that were referenced by that program are not assigned to any other Program.

Translator also supports multiple-object selection for deletion as well.
