Mac Options

Show all other Mac files besides sampler-related ones
When looking at Mac (HFS) proprietary disks or CD's under the SCSI-ATAPI Drives area, it will show all files, not just the sampler-related ones (such as SampleCell, EXS-24, MESA, etc.)
Default: unchecked

Ingore Missing Samples when collecting Samples from Mac disk
When this is checked, Translator, when translating EXS, MESA, SamplerCell, and other formats from Mac disks that use external sample files, will simply ignore without prompt samples that it cannot find. The option is mostly in response to SampleCell Instruments/Banks that intentionally use bogus sample files to "fill out" its keymaps.
Default: unchecked

When writing files, restrict name lengths to 31 characters
It is very common for people to use Translator Windows to convert files for use in the Mac. However, the MacOS and Mac programs are "kinder" to file names with a limit of 31 characters. In fact, for OS9, it is mandatory that your file names cnotain no more than 31 characters.
Although OSX allows larger names, it doesn't mean the programs like them. Two significant examples are EXS-24 and Reason. Neither program displays long file names accurately; instead, they use the 31-character counterpart. With those programs it is highly recommended that you check this option.
Default: unchecked

Show Naming Dialog for non-OS9 names
This is a manual method of truncating names (see above option). When this option is checked and Translator finds a context where it has to truncate a name, it will diplay the dialog shown below. With this, you can "pre-name" the new destination files names that have to stay within the 31-character limit.
Default: unchecked

MOTIF: Write "Banks" source to Multi
When this is checked, Translator will take a "Bank source" (a single object or file that can contain more than one Program) and create just one .w2v/.w3v file set for it. This is more handy for organization, although it can create much larger files sizes, and it can be more hindering and when loading the file, it may loading unnecessary samples that you don't care about.
Default: unchecked

SYNCLAVIER: Show disk in terms of Categories
Every Synclavier sample can be categorized under one or more Category names. Checking this option causes the Translator interface to show the Synclavier disk in terms of these Categories by listing each Category as a Folder and losting the included Samples underneath. If this option is not checked, the disk with simply show all the samples included on the disk as a flat list.
Default: checked
