Drive Options

Overrides
This dialog is primarily meant to accomodate non-standard drives, such as Magneto-Optical drives and other drives that don't work "normally".

"Normal" primarily means that CD-ROM drives read 2048 sectors per block read, and hard drives read 512 bytes per block read. However, some MO drives indicate to the computer that they are "hard drives" (technically direct-access types) but they use 2048 sector block reading. Also, some CD-ROM Drives allow you to switch this configuration.

Whatever the case, this allows you to override any setting for any drive.

SCSI Buffer
IMPORTANT - DO NOT CHANGE THIS UNLESS YOU READ THIS AND UNDERSTAND THE RAMIFICATIONS
SCSI and ATAPI communication works in packets. The Default size of each packet (maximum) is 32,768 bytes (128 blocks). This works on most computers, SCSI cards, and ATAPI drives. It is recommended that you leave this on Default, unless you are having problems with reading or writing to SCSI or ATAPI drives.

If you are having problems, try setting this value to a lower setting. Make sure you are using a disk or drive where you will not mind if data is lost.
