Giga Utilities

These are special Giga-specific utilities designed to make your life easier. All of these can be performed in bulk, by right-clicking on a folder, or one at a time, by right-clicking on a specific .gig file.

If you are doing this in bulk and wish to have it pertain to an entire folder tree, make sure you have Recurse Sub-Folders checked in Options-Destination Locations.

Giga Integrity Check
Makes sure the selected .gig files are OK and not corrupt or have any bad data in them.

Decompress .gig files
Some Giga libraries have compressed .wav data in them to make them smaller. This function decompresses those files, making them larger and of course making the .wav files accessible. Note: when translating these .gig files, Translator™ automatically decompresses the samples.

Adjust Giga Tuning
Takes each .gig file and removes the programmed tuning offsets by downsampling or upsampling the sample data.

Adjust Giga Naming
Brings up a special dialog that allows you to change all three types of objects in a .gig file - the Instruments, Sample Folders, and Samples themselves. Although you can do this in the interface as well, this dialog allows automatic adjustment for non-Mac OS9 character schemes (more than 31 characters total including extension) and tells you when everything is compatible.

Update .gig file with .art file
Updates a .gig file with the information stored within a Giga Articulation file (.art). Giga Articulation files are really on .gig files without the sample data.

Decrease Regions
Eliminates every other region in a Giga Instrument, and covers it over with Region preceding it (only if it is directly next to it). This function will not eliminate the lowest or highest Region.

Convert Channels
Forces all samples within a Giga file to be stereo, or as mono. Also adjusts the Regions to dispense with the Stereo dimension, to make the file fully compatible.
