Format

This command allows you to format any physical drive or Virtual Drives. It can format hard drives into DOS format or any proprietary format, and Virtual Drives into any proprietary format.

It cannot create DOS formatted Virtual Drives, but that's not big deal since such files are beyond the scope of Translator™ anyway.

"Entire Disk" means the present capacity of the hard drive or Virtual Drive and ignores the number listed in "Size", and Custom enables the Size field and allows a cutom size to be inputted. Sizes larger than a particular formats largest capacity will be truncated to that capacity - e.g. Akai S-1000/3000 disks can only be 511mb maximum.

You can specify the Partition Size in regards to Akai or MPC formats, and Disk labels in regards to Roland or Ensoniq formats.

It should be obvious that this function should be used with care. It is entirely possible to ruin a hard drive or Virtual Drive this way, because you are physically writing over information that you may want to keep. As a result, Translator™ gives you plenty of warnings first, so you just can't do this by accident.
