Right-Click Method

The Right-Click Method only appears and works with DOS files, translating to another DOS file. Simply select the file you wish to translate, right-click and select Convert As... The available options will show; just select the translation you would like.

Example: Let's say you have a SoundFont file and you want to translate it to a Native Instruments Kontakt set of files.

• Select the file in the LEFT PANE, and right-click on it. You can also select a folder or a disk to convert in bulk.
• Click on Convert... and select Native instruments, then Kontakt.
• The translation will begin. By default, Translator will deposit the Kontakt .nki file(s) and sample files into the same folder as the SoundFont. You can choose your own locations for the .nki files and sample files by selecting the appropriate option under Options-Destination Locations. There you can either specify the different locations or to prompt you upon conversion.

You can convert in bulk by selecting a folder or a drive. This converts all the files contained within that folder. By default all the files in that folder tree will be converted. You can turn this off by unchecking Recurse Sub-Folders under Options-Destination Locations.

Note: Be careful if you are converting files that use seperate sample files (WAVE or AIFF or other) and those files are in the same folder! Translator™ will end up converting those as seperate objects too. You can prevent this by checking the Do Not Convert Sample Files In Bulk Conversions under Options-Destination Locations.

Example: Let's say you have a folder full of Tascam GigaStudio files and you want to translate it to a set of Emagic EXS-24 files.

• Select the folder in either the Left or Right pane, and right-click on it.
• Click on Convert As..., select Emagic EXS-24.
• The translation will begin. The same destination rules apply as above.
• When the translation is done, the .exs files and samples files will appear in your desired locations.
