Patch Updates
Starting with updates after Revision 22, Ensoniq Disk Tools updates with be available again on our Web Site. They will be in the form of "Patches", files you download to update your currently installed program. Some comments:

• You will need at least Revision 22 to use this system. You will simply click the Update button in the program - that will bring up your browswer, dial the Internet, and take you to a Web page that will inform you on the availability of an update. If there is one, it will display a link for you to download it. If you do not have access to the Internet from that computer, you will get a dialog noting the URL of the page that you need to access.
• You will not need to incrementally update. Your only concern is to update your Rev 22 or later version to the current one displayed.
• These "Patches" ARE NOT COMPLETE PROGRAMS. They only update your current installation. If you need another complete version, it will need to be snail-mailed to you at a $5.00 (US) or $8.00 (non-US) charge.

E-mail Updates (please note - this will be discontinued June 7th, 2000)
Ensoniq Disk Tools updates are available via an e-mail system, explained below.

• At every significant update point, we will send out an e-mail notice to all users that an update will be e-mailed soon, on a specific date. The user will need to e-mail us back if he/she does not want the update; otherwise, the upgrade will be e-mailed. Users can also request to be taken off the e-mail list. On that date, the upgrade file will be e-mailed.
• The update file will be approximately 1mb. On some e-mail systems this might present a problem, but in most cases it will not.

You can always be fully updated; that is, get all the files needed for a full installation, by following these steps:

• Download the Disk Tools Setup File and install it on your computer
• Run the LAST DATED update file you received via e-mail, usually named dt.exe (if you haven't received any updates or have misplaced them, use your install floppies or CD-ROM), and extract/install the files into your application directory.
• Save your update file to floppy disk or other backup medium.

Along with the update, we mail our new "Tools Tips" newsletter. This will contain lot's of helpful tips on the use of Ensoniq Disk Tools, along with the most frequent questions asked of us.

Please update us with any new e-mail address you have. This is your responsibility.

We do not e-mail updates seperately to individuals for free. Updates sent through e-mail between scheduled update times carry a charge of $5.00. The ONLY exception to this are those people who we have not previously had any e-mail address for - please contact us with your e-mail address and we would be happy to help you.

The updates are 32-bit ONLY. 16-bit will not be supported in e-mail updates.

We would like to make the the updates available via the web; however, security issues have made it unable for us to do so. Next time you see a wareZ site, blame them for this inconvenience.
